Chocolate is a popular ingredient and is available in many types. Different forms and flavours of chocolate are produced by varying the quantities of the different ingredients. Chocolate is one tropical superfood no one in North America has trouble pronouncing. Chocolate is made from cocoa beans. Components in cocoa beans such as antioxidants may help protect against degenerative illnesses like heart disease and cancer. Chocolate is a rich source of magnesium and phosphorus. Also, contrary to popular belief, chocolate contains only a limited amount of caffeine.

Chocolate is proven to be one of the healthiest foods on the earth. Research is continually proving that chocolate is actually a super food. Chocolate is a heavenly snack no matter how it is eaten, but most people would not believe it has health benefits. One important benefit of chocolate is that it helps lower high blood pressure. Chocolate is a good energy booster. During the Gulf War, a US chocolate manufacturer was shipping out boxes of the stuff to its troops.

Eating more dark chocolate can help lower blood pressure. Remember, you do have to balance the extra calories by eating less of other things. Eating chocolate typically contains between 25 and 35% fat and 50% sugar. Flavorings such as vanilla may also be added, depending on the product.
